New Asthma Medication Law (AB 2132)
As of Jan. 2005 students are allowed to carry and self administer their
own inhaled asthma medication at school. The new law allows the student
to treat their asthma symptoms immediately in order to miss less class
time. Appropriate forms must be signed by both the parent and physician.
Teachers and staff should alert the office if any student is carrying
an inhaler. The student may then be seen by the school nurse or the office
staff to be evaluated for proper medication use. For sample school forms

Ounce of Prevention Campaign
Centers for Disease Control's campaign to provide resources about handwashing,
cleaning and disinfection, and other easy-to-follow steps in an effort to develop
