The Academic Decathlon is a competitive event for high school students aimed at encouraging and honoring scholastic accomplishments. 2008 Results... The Model United Nations is an exciting, educational way for high school students to learn about global issues. The Model U.N. simulates the activities of a U.N. body such as the Security Council or the General Assembly. Students assume the roles of diplomatic representatives to the U.N., as they consider contemporary international concerns. 2007 Results... The Mock Trial Program is sponsored by the Constitutional Rights Foundation (CRF). Each year CRF creates a mock trial that addresses serious matters facing young people today. The 2009 Mock Trial will be held in Martinez courtrooms on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in February 2009. 2008 Results... Moot Court project has been developed by veteran teachers and Mock Trial coaches, Ron Leone and Carla Garrett, with the assistance of the Constitutional Rights Foundation (CRF). A U.S. or California Supreme Court case is adapted each year for this program. Students write briefs and argue them in an appellate court style. These
events are coordinated by the Communciations department.
