The Contra Costa County Office of Education offers a series of events throughout the school year. The events are designed to give students the opportunity to hone and showcase their academic excellence through spirited competition.
Adult Correctional Education offers educational programs to incarcerated adults to ensure opportunities for students to take grade-appropriate academic course work, address basic skill deficits, earn high school credits, earn the GED, and/or vocational preparation. Additionally, these programs emphasize the development of pro-social behaviors and life skills.
The County Office of Education offers a variety of classes for adult and high school learners.
ROP is a career training program designed for high school juniors and seniors and adult learners. The goal of ROP is to help students learn about career opportunities and develop job skills.
A series of specialized services is offered through CCCOE's Special Projects for the community at large. These include job search activities for limited English speakers, the disabled and the economically disadvantaged, training and certification for group home caregivers, cosmetology training, preschool teacher training and educational data reporting.
Made possible through many partnerships, these summer camps provide high school juniors and seniors hands on, real world learning opportunities with scientists, engineers, and industry experts. And the bonus... students earn college credit, take field trips in the local area, and have fun while learning about exciting career opportunities.
YDS provides support to youth and families who face economic and/or academic barriers. This support includes Foster Youth Services, Homeless Education and more.
