The Far East County Student Programs provide special day classes
and community based instruction for approximately 160 students in
16 classrooms across eastern Contra Costa County. The students in
our classrooms are 3 - 22 years old. We are currently included on
middle and high school campuses in Oakley and Antioch with
four primary community based instruction locations.
Our regional office is located at the Liberty
Transition Program on the Liberty High School campus in Brentwood. Our
support staff includes speech pathologists, psychologists, nurses, an
adaptive physical education specialist and an augmentative team. All staff
use innovative approaches to facilitate instruction and transition into
the community. Students in our Liberty Café, located on the Liberty
High School campus provide lunch to the Liberty faculty on a daily basis.
The mission of the FAR East Student
Programs is to educate and challenge students to achieve their maximum
potential as independent and productive members of their community. We
strive to meet our mission by providing an integrated environment utilizing
technology, community resources and a teamwork of parents and care providers.
