The Contra Costa County Office of Education and the Solano County Office of Education are offering California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) test preparation courses for 2008-09 academic year for the following subject areas: Multiple Subjects; Single Subject Mathematics; Single Subject English; Single Subject Science; Single Subject Health; Single Subject Physical Education; and Single Subject Social Science. Under the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB), all teachers need to prove subject matter competency to be considered highly qualified. One option to demonstrate subject matter knowledge is to take and pass the CSET in a teacher’s credential area. CSET courses cover test-taking strategies and content.

Registration Fee: $210 for 18-hour course; $140 for 12-hour course; $105 for 9-hour course; and $70 for 6-hour course.
Registration should be received at least ten days before each class. Classes may cancelled due to insufficient enrollment.
Refunds will only be issued if written request is received two weeks prior to the Test Prep Course start date.
